I was going through some forums recently and came across the post below.
Which is related to taking a permanent connection from BESCOM.
(Don’t take some user’s suggestions on that post. Most of them don’t know what they are talking about.)
A few days back, my brother and I installed CCTV cameras that we bought during this Amazon big billion sale.
Installation was also over.
When we switched on the DVR, we noticed out of 10 cameras, 3 cameras were not working.
Again, my brother attempted to fix the issue; out of those 3 cameras, 2 started working, and 1 camera had some issues.
One of our student tenants escaped from a common mistake made by our electrical contractor team.
Luckily, he got only injured on his shoulders, and nothing serious happened.
This incident happened a few days back.
When we were distributing housewarming invitation cards, we were not there in the home.
Today at around 11:20 PM, the BESCOM meter reader started calling, “Sir.. sir… are there in the house?” standing in front of the house.
My Dad and I were there in the hall.
I opened my CCTV app on my mobile to double-check he was calling us only.
After seeing him in front of our gate, I got confirmed.
I got confused seeing him today. Because today is not meter reading day, but the meter reader is calling us.
Today, one of our favourite mason who built our two houses came to our house.
His name is Shafi… Good, talented and fast-working guy.
He often visits our house, have snacks, discusses with us, and leave.
Today is one such day he visited our house just to speak to us…
A few days back, the power suddenly went off at night in our house.
Initially, whenever the power went… we faced some dark issues in our building.
Even though we have 2 battery Inverter setup in our house, we didn’t properly set up, or I can say we didn’t properly utilise it.
We missed a few things like any beginner do.
This afternoon, some sound came.
Out of curiosity, I opened my CCTV visuals on my mobile. I noticed someone taking hallow blocks from next to our building construction spot.
I watched who the guy was… it was none other than the neighbour’s house.
They took only two blocks to make some sitting arrangements outside their house.
Interestingly, they have their own hallow block right next to their building. But they didn’t use their blocks…
Yesterday we were not in our house till 10pm… within that time someone took outside blub.
My guess is it’s our tenants.
All our tenants are college students. I guess someone’s bulb might gone, and they took the shortcut to replace it.
At 8 pm, around 8 BESCOM person came to our new building for our Building inspection.
Once your building is complete, when you apply for a Permanent electricity connection, they will do a spot inspection before you get approved.
It didn’t happen in our first building. But it did happen for our second building.
The reason could be…
While building our first building, we learned some lessons the really hard way.
One such lesson is hiring the wrong electrical contractor.
When we hired the wrong electrical contractor, we not only faced issues with electrical work in our building.
But we also faced an issue getting the final permanent connection from the electricity department.
After completing our building work, we waited 2 to 3 months for a permanent connection.
