Once PCC bedding is done, the next step is installing Reinforced Mat Laying and Column/Pillar standing.

Soil Backfilling
Once size stone masonry work is done, it’s time for you to fill the soil back inside your site.
This filling back soil again is called soil backfilling.

Size Stone Masonry
Once digging, you need to build size stone masonry work on all 4 corners of your site border.
Digging Earth for Foundation Work
You must dig the earth surrounding your site boundary to build size stone masonry work. This work is usually done by manual labourers, not with JCB.
If you try to do it with the JCB, the proper size won’t come, and the chances of pillars/footing damage will be there.
Plinth Beam Building
If you fill excess soil inside your site, make space wherever the plinth beam will come. Then, PCC bedding will be done wherever the plinth beam will come.
Now, the barbender will prepare the plinth beam.
Centring team will do centring wherever the plinth beam comes.
The building contractor will pour concrete inside the plinth beam.
Excavation in Construction
Excavation or digging of the earth is done after doing the site marking process.
As per the engineer’s plan, you need to excavate the earth for sump construction and pillar standing.
Excavation is usually done with the help of JCB.
Some of them prefer to use a manual labour process. If you choose to go with fully manual process, then it will get costly for you.
I recommend going with both JCB and manual methods. You will understand why in this article later.
Site Marking in Construction
Site marking is one of the beginning house construction activities done by your building contractor.
Once you finish Bhoomi/Gudali Pooja, you will do the site cleaning and leveling by JCB or manual labour.
If you already did this work before Gudali Pooja, you don’t need to do that again.
After all these activities, your building contractor will come to the picture.
I went to the BBMP Office for some personal work.
Yesterday, I went to the BBMP office near my house to include my daughter’s name in the birth certificate.
This was the first time I went to that office.
The building outside looks like a king’s house. As soon as I entered inside, it was full of dirt & smell.
A lot of pigeons made dirt all over the building steps & walls. The smell inside the building itself completely changed.
How neighbour theft blocks
This afternoon, some sound came.
Out of curiosity, I opened my CCTV visuals on my mobile. I noticed someone taking hallow blocks from next to our building construction spot.
I watched who the guy was… it was none other than the neighbour’s house.
They took only two blocks to make some sitting arrangements outside their house.
Interestingly, they have their own hallow block right next to their building. But they didn’t use their blocks…
I was wrong about Cauvery water (BWSSB)
In Bangalore, Cauvery water is charged based on usage basis. Usually, they fix some water meters and charge based on how many litres they consume.
Till now, I thought users who have a Cauvery water connection.
