Today, I noticed something interesting.
Today, the waterman left water on our line/house. Our sump got full and started overflowing at 12:08PM.
So my dad closed the valve. (We have an automated valve closing in our house. We once removed it, we didn’t put it back. I will talk about that in the Sump Automation Guide)
At 6 PM, our opposite house sump got full and started overflowing. Today, no one was there in their house, so I called our area water man to stop water in our line.
Bangalore users already started facing water issues.

I don’t watch any news. Still, some serious news comes to me.
Anytime summer comes, water scarcity rises, and water tankers’ golden period starts.
In Bangalore, Cauvery water is charged based on usage basis. Usually, they fix some water meters and charge based on how many litres they consume.
Till now, I thought users who have a Cauvery water connection.
– they don’t face water shortage issue
– Owners don’t need to give bribes to waterman
– Water comes with sufficient water pressure
They have been trying to fix the Water not coming to their sump problem since yesterday.
It happened behind our house itself.

But the work is not yet completed. Till today, 7.30 Pm, labourers are working on this task…
Tomorrow also some work will be there for civil labourers to fix.
This is not a new building… It’s an old building itself. But they started facing issues now… the reason?
This issue happened to our first sump.
We decided to use 2 manual labourers to clean our sump.
And our sump is 30,000 to 35,000 ltr capacity.
In the beginning, we didn’t have any issues…
Everything went smoothly… until the labours reached the ending stage of cleaning.
I watched a youtube video about connecting to the main water line connection to the sump video.
In that video, one comment got my attention. His comment says:
