When time is bad
The day before yesterday, I had an appointment with our astrologer to fix the gruha pravesh date for our house.
The appointment is scheduled at 6:20PM.
I planned to leave our house at 5:35pm.
That day, Bangalore bandh was announced due to Cauvery issues. Only a few public transport are available.
My bike repair lesson
Yesterday, my brother went to the bike service centre to show some issues with my bike.
As it was a little far… he handled such stuff. If it’s near, I handle it.
The showroom guys suggested some other problems while checking the bike.
Whatever the other issue they suggested it cost us – ₹9412.
How to Plan House Construction

When you are ready to start the house construction work, there are a few things you need to be aware of and a few things you need to arrange.
Below, I will share a few such points from my experience.
Don’t make this Exhaust fan pipe mistake
A few days back, me, my wife and my 1.8-year-old daughter were going on a bike to a nearby shop.
Instead of going on the main road, we went on the inside road so traffic wouldn’t be there.
I usually drive my bike slowly… like 30km speed.
While going, if no traffic is there, I always look to the surrounding environment for inspiration. These days, it’s about building.
Price Lock method followed by this owner
This is an advanced strategy…
Experienced builders try to attempt this method.
We tried to do this in our second building, but nearby store owners didn’t agree.
The mason guy who came to our house informed me that the building owner gave 20 lakh to the material supplier store in one shot.
The owner had a deal with the material supplier near their building to supply cement and steel at the same price till their house construction is over.
PCC Bed for Footing
After digging the earth, the next step is preparing a PCC (Plain Cement Concrete) Bed for Footing.
In this step, whatever the excavated place/trench is there, they will put some jelly first, and later msand and cement mix will be added on top of it.
Mat Laying and Column Standing
Once PCC bedding is done, the next step is installing Reinforced Mat Laying and Column/Pillar standing.
The Barbender team will come and prepare those steel mats.
Footing Concreting
The next step is filling the concrete in the excavated trenches.
Usually, your building contractor informs the Gang Team to do this work. At the same time, 1 mason and a few of his labourers are present on the footing concreting time.
This is to ensure Pillars are straight while pouring concrete into the trench. After concrete dries, they cannot make changes.
Raising Pillar Till Plinth Level
After footing concreting, the next work is raising the pillar to the plinth level. This work is done before soil backfilling work is done.
